Description
Rotating Drum Fine Screen is used for filtration, the filtration process used here is inside out. The RDFS consists of a filtration screen drum which is rotating. The effluent to be filtered is fed right into the center of the drum. The rotating drum also consists of screw flights to move the trapped solids in the forward direction. The solids are trapped inside the drum and the filtered water simply flows out through the screen by gravity. The clogged screen is cleaned by a back washing flushing arrangement and a brush. Both of these arrangements are provided from the outside of the screen. The feed into this equipment has to be pumped inside. The bottom collection tank has three compartments, one where the filtrate is collected, second where the overflow can be collected and third a guide hopper from where the solids fall down. Equipment is completely enclosed when in operation.
